Contrary to popular belief, there is usually no fireworks on 31 December in Paris (no fireworks organized by the city of Paris).
If, like many tourists, you are in front of the Eiffel Tower, Place du Trocadéro, or on the Champs-Elysées to see the final bouquet for the New Year, you may be disappointed ... Indeed, the last fireworks the year went back to the year 2000 (for the passage to the new millennium).
In 2015 the mayor of Paris had nevertheless inovated with a surprise fireworks on the Champs-elysees with projections on the Arc de Triomphe. However, this was not renewed last year because of the strengthened vigipirate plan. It will be the same this year.
So NO , there will NOT of fireworks organized by the city for the new year 2018 in Paris . You will have to wait until the 14th of July to enjoy the unique fireworks in Paris every year.
Moreover, the Police Prefecture prohibits the sale and use of rockets or all the artifices of entertainment for the New Year's Eve in Paris because they are likely to disturb public order. If you get caught up with you risk a fine of 38 € ... As much to save your pennies and to benefit from one of the day of the year 2018 that we have selected you;)
